Christine M Wells Parks

I became a housewife in 1963, then a college student in my 30s, graduated with a BS in Interior Design from San Jose State University in 1980 with Highest Honors. Began practicing Interior Design at Wells Fargo Bank as a Project Manager in their facilities group, after 4.5 yrs. I left to work at a small interior design firm in Lafayette, then worked for an architect in Walnut Creek, after which I became a consultant to Chevron Corporation. Learned AutoCAD there and began my own business in 1986, had many commercial clients in the San Francisco Bay area and retired in 1999 after I married Ron. We lived in the bay area until 2002 when we moved to Grass Valley to completely retire. Been very busy ever since learning to quilt attending excercise classes 3 times a week, traveling a bit, designing my own residence, and actively attending bible studies, and church activities, and lately serving as Program Chairman for our local Quilt Guild.This year I am serving as Co-President for our Luthern Women's Group

Our school was only 7 years old when we began attending. I was proud that my Dad had helped design it! But alas, asbestos got a really bad name as a fire retardant and now there is a new school. I got contact lenses my Junior Year. I remember 'tear'ing and blinking down the hall in between classes. Probably bumping into to other students. The contacts were hard ones then. One time I lost one in my eye and was sure it had gone into my brain. Most of the people who remember that thought it was funny! I also remember lugging all of those heavy books with other buddies all the way home, if we didn't have a ride home or the bus didn't come by. For some of us, it was about 2 1/2 miles. Why didn't we think of backpacks or wheels. I guess the kids today are a little smarter than we were.
